Glasses, lenses: what solutions to slow down myopia?
Optics also play a key role in controlling myopia.
Myopia can therefore be slowed down, here are the solutions:
- Glasses with braking lenses: they slow down the progression of myopia, even for corrections of up to -10 diopters.
- Specific lenses: there are orthokeratology lenses (which are worn at night) or soft braking lenses.
Our multidisciplinary practice COP9 offers you these solutions! Meet our contactologist Solène, as well as Dr. Stéphanie Zwillinger to talk about it.
Myopia can be slowed down effectively!
According to Dr. Zwillinger, in 70% of cases, braking strategies can significantly slow the progression of myopia.
Combining a healthy visual lifestyle with suitable optical solutions is therefore the key to protecting your vision in the long term.
If you or your child are affected by myopia, consult an ophthalmologist to implement a personalized solution and limit its progression.
