This is a profession that our pediatric practice works with on a daily basis.

Neuropediatrics is practiced by a pediatrician who has been trained in pediatric neurology.

The role of neuropediatrics in your child’s development

Neuropediatrics includes the diagnosis and treatment of children with diseases of the central (brain and spinal cord) and peripheral (nerves and muscles) neurological systems, or developmental disorders such as epilepsy, meningitis, cerebral palsy, headaches, etc.

Des examens peuvent êTests may be performed such as a CT scan, MRI or an EEG.

A large proportion of these diseases have a genetic origin, however, the cause of the disorders is not always possible to establish.

The role of the neuropediatrician is to diagnose neurological diseases of the child and to propose therapies and treatments adapted to the child’s disorders.

The role is often multidisciplinary, involving ophthalmologists, orthoptists, psychologists, occupational therapists and many other professions.
